Description: A black and white building with a recessed frontage and pillars supporting a Tudor-style overhanging upper floor with three projecting Oriel windows. Above are steeply pitched roofs and sharply-peaked gables. Situated in Lower Shorne, 150 yards from The Crown Inn.
The house, which had a cottage in its garden as described by Watson, was built in the 1870s by the Revd Tufnell Barrett who spent a great deal of time designing and building idiosyncratic houses and cottages on his property.
