Comments: The home of Charing Cross hospital from 1834-1973. Dr Mortimer was presented with a stick “from his friends of the CCH” before taking up his post as medical officer “for the parishes of Grimpen, Thorsley and High Barrow”. After Holmes was attacked by two men in Regent Street in “The Illustrious Client” he was taken to Charing Cross Hospital for treatment before returning to Baker Street
