Reason for inclusion: Part of the route Holmes and Watson took to trap Moran.
Accessibility: All hours
Description: London streets
Bernard Davies reconstructed the route Holmes and Watson took to arrive at the back of ‘Campden House’ from where Moran would attempt to shoot into 221B Baker Street. Watson only mentioned Blandford Street in his account. Davies based his reconstruction on Watson’s statement that it took them through ‘a network of mews and stables’, and narrow streets and narrow passages. Davies worked out that the route was Cavendish Square, Harley Street, New Cavendish Street, Wimpole Mews, Weymouth Street, Beaumont Mews, Paddington Street, Grotto Passage, Ossington Buildings, Moxon Street, Aybrook Street, Blandford Street and finished in Kendall Place from whence Holmes and Watson entered Campden House from the rear and lay in wait for Moran. In Watson’s time Moxon Street was called ‘Paradise Street’.
