Reason for inclusion: Used by Holmes and Watson to travel to the West Midlands, Bedfordshire and Derbyshire but also planned to be used by Drebber and Stangerson to travel to Liverpool from whence they could sail to America.
Accessibility: Normal railway opening hours
Description: The station has changed out of all recognition from Holmes’ and Watson’s time. Only the lodges and some of the statues remain from the original building.
Comment
One of the major expansions of the site resulted in the demolition of part of Drummond Street including ‘Emms’ Hotel’, attributed by the late Bernard Davies as ‘Hallidays on Little George Street’ where Stangerson was murdered. The site is apparently now occupied by Platform 15.
