  • Reason for inclusion: On this street was situated both Mycroft Holmes’ lodgings and the Diogenes Club where he met Holmes and Watson.

    Accessibility: Public access.

Description: A thoroughfare stretching from St James’ to Trafalgar Square.

Comments: The Diogenes Club is a fictitious creation of Conan Doyle. Most lodgings were on the north side of Pall Mall with the clubs on the south side. As Holmes and Watson approach the club from the South James’ end and we are told it was situated a little distance from the Carlton (which was in the middle) we may assume the Diogenes Club was at the St James’ end of Pall Mall.
