Reason for inclusion: Park Hill House was the home of Fletcher Robinson’s parents stayed in by ACD on Sunday 2nd June 1901 after he had spent Friday 31st May and Saturday 1st June on Dartmoor looking at locations for The Hound with Fletcher Robinson and his head coachman Henry Baskerville
Accessibility: Park Hill House, Park Hill Cross on A381 near Ipplepen (opposite Essar Garage) -park on side road beside garage Parking is permitted on the garage forecourt if you buy something in the garage kiosk. Best observation point is from the grass opposite Park Hill House and Park Hill Lodge. Both houses are privately owned and there is no direct access
Description: Both white rendered houses are privately owned
Comments: Park Hill Lodge was the original coach house for Park Hill House. It housed the horse driven coach/trap that Henry Baskerville used to transport ACD and FR on Dartmoor. In it ACD and FR travelled the 14 miles (four hours) journey from Princetown to Park Hill Cross on 2nd June taking in Buckfastleigh on the way.
