Description: Victorian non-residential premises built 1879-1880
Birmingham has many buildings dating from the Victorian period. Unfortunately, none of the places seen by Holmes and Watson have survived. New Street Railway station was completely rebuilt in 1960 and 126 B Corporation Street was demolished to make way for a roundabout. Sufficient information does not exist to pinpoint the hotel in New Street where Hall Pycroft stayed. Queen’s Corner was named after the visit of Queen Victoria in 1887.
