Reason for inclusion: Identified by Thomas Bruce Wheeler as “Whitehall Terrace” the home of Trelawney Hope from where the document went missing and in which the story ends
Accessibility: Not accessible internally but can be viewed from the adjoining footpath which runs between it and The Ministry of Defence
Description:The buildings were completed by 1824. The terrace was lived in by various cabinet ministers and the explorer Henry Morton Stanley
Comments: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle does not gives any description of “Whitehall Terrace” but Richmond Terrace is certainly close enough to 10 Downing Street for the Prime Minister to walk over for lunch.
