A Case of Identity is attributed to March 1889 or 1890 The story is one of 12 Sherlock Holmes short stories in The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. It was first published in The Strand Magazine in September 1891. Holmes and Watson are visited by a Miss Mary Sutherland whose fiancé a Mr Hosmer Angel disappeared on the day of their wedding in mysterious circumstances.
