The Sussex Vampire

The Adventure of The Sussex Vampire is deemed to take place between 1894 and 1901. It is one of 12 Sherlock Holmes short stories in The Case-book of Sherlock Holmes and was first published in The Strand Magazine in 1924. Robert Ferguson comes to beg Holmes’ help. He is distraught that his current wife has not only struck his son from his first marriage but has apparently wounded and sucked the blood of her baby. His concern that this may be a case of insanity or vampirism leads Holmes and Watson to visit his home Cheeseman’s near Lamberley in Sussex
