  • Reason for inclusion: Favoured contender for the vicarage where Mortimer Tregellis is killed.

Accessibility: Private but currently provides bed and breakfast accommodation. Check website.

    Description: Vicarage, now a hotel.

Pamela Bruxner attributed this to be the vicarage of Tredannick Wollas. Although Mullion had a larger population in those days (bizarrely 666 in 1897 – the Devil’s number) than Watson stated (‘a couple of hundred souls’), it does fit well in proximity to Poldhu and Predannack Manor. Parts of the building date back to the reign of Elizabeth 1st. The facade was added in 1834, to provide more room for the then incumbent’s large household, which included his 10 children. At the rear is a French window which would have opened onto the garden as in Watson’s description.
