The Resident Patient

The Resident Patient (dated to 1881) is one of 11 Sherlock Holmes short stories in The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes. It was first published in The Strand Magazine in August 1893. Holmes and Watson are visited in Baker Street by a Dr Trevelyan who is worried about the increasingly erratic behaviour of his benefactor a Mr Blessington. Mr Blessington with whom he was unacquainted has set him up as a consultant in the prestigious Brook Street. Now Blessington claims people are getting into his own room in the building. Holmes establishes that Blessington is not who he seems to be.
